Our Product

Our new product is based on technology developed by Dr. Alan Watson at McGill University and can effectively control dandelions, the major broadleaf in turf.

The active component of the product is Sclerotinia minor, a naturally occurring fungus that is native to Canada.  When applied to a broadleaf weed, the fungus will grow into the weed and absorb the plant tissues until the weed is completely gone.  Once the weed is gone, the fungus dies and no residuals are left.

Grass
The picture to the left shows a test plot where our product was applied in a heavily weed infested field.

It usually takes between 5 and 7 days to eliminate the weeds. Grass has a natural defense mechanism against the product so all grass types cannot be harmed.  Our technology actually uses the weeds' natural enemy to control it.

Mycelium
This picture shows the fungus germinating out of the carrier
particle and then growing into the weeds.

The product does not pose a risk to human health or the environment and is compatible with normal lawn maintenance operations such as mowing, fertilization, and irrigation.
